Signs your Relationship may be Over

When did you last look forward to spending time with your partner? If you and your partner feel like you're just going through the motions, this could be a sign that the relationship is over.

Long-term relationships should feel both safe and exciting at the same time. If you don't feel either, you should think again. Indifference is the death of a relationship that used to be strong. If you feel like you're with the wrong person and don't care about your partner anymore, it might be time to move on.

Let's talk about warning signs that the relationship is over.

You don't see a future with them

When you want love so much, you might settle for someone who isn't your soulmate. But you can't find true happiness in a relationship with someone you don't see a future with or aren't passionate about. It can definitely make you feel better. It's easy to get used to a partner and fall into patterns with them. There's nothing "wrong", so don't fix it if it's not broken. Right?

Do you truly want to settle for someone you don't really love just so you can say you're in a relationship? Because moving out would take too much work?

You're not you

When you're with the right partner, you feel at home. You can kick off your shoes, let your hair down, and be who you really are. If you feel like you have to hide parts of yourself from your partner, you should really think about that decision. Why do you try to hide from them? Do you feel that you must pretend to be someone you're not?

You need to be honest and real with your partner at all times. If you feel like you have to change parts of yourself to be with them, that's a big warning sign. And that also includes their friends and family. If they want you to act like someone you're not around their family, you should really think about why you're with them.

You're fighting for their attention

You have to ask them to text you back every time. You feel like you're always making plans for a date. They never talk to you or ask how you're doing. Your partner shouldn't have to beg you to talk to them.

Your partner should be interested in learning more about how you feel and what you think. People should care about what you are doing. Dates should be something that a partner wants to plan with their loved one.

If you're doing all the work and the only thing you talk about is them, you should step back and realise that you deserve a partner who wants you without being asked.

Not sure if you're leading the talk? Stop talking. Wait to see when they start talking again. You don't have to be a relationship expert to know that if the conversation stops, it's not a good sign. Make sure you pay attention to who starts each conversation.

If you have the slightest bit of doubt, you should listen to your gut. Love is not just something that makes sense or feels good. It's a mix of all three of those things. If you are married, then you may need to talk to a divorce attorney. Listen to your gut, feel the attraction you have towards them, and think about how you feel about them. Taking all three into account will help you figure out if the relationship is over.

What tips do you have for someone who is trying to figure out if their relationship is over?

Love Beth xx
